A Multimedia Exploration of the Story of Vulcan, Blending Film, Poetry, Sound, Music, Art and Science
These pages feature Carolyn Waudby‘s beautifully crafted, evocative and original poems. Her verses are pared back, bold, precise, yet delicately steeped in resonance, each word filled with a sense of connection, and the warmth of humanity.
Some of these words also feature in the Music & Sounds section of the site, delivered in Carolyn’s crystalline tones. They are integrated, in various ways, into the Films too.
Carolyn’s poetry blends with longer form text, exploring the history of Vulcan, a major inspiration for the project, on the Mythology pages. She also documents the progression of the Cradle of Fire initiative, exploring the interconnected communities within Sheffield, where she both lives and works.
