A Multimedia Exploration of the Story of Vulcan, Blending Film, Poetry, Sound, Music, Art and Science
We are excited to announce a second public screening of the forthcoming Cradle of Fire film. This event is in association with the Land of Iron Museum, and takes place on Thursday 14 November from 6.00 to 7.30PM.
We have been working with partners, including the Land of Iron team, who have been collaborating on various aspects of the project.
The museum stands on the site of the first ironstone mine in Cleveland. Their displays explore the area’s rich history with a hands-on journey that takes you back 150 years, to a time of industrial revolution, when the area and its people supplied over a third of the world’s iron and steel.
Enjoy the Cradle of Fire short film screening, an artist talk and Q&A with engineer, lead artist and film maker Diana Scarborough, and a poetry reading by writer and co-director Carolyn Waudby.
Vulcan inspired art prints by Sheena Mary Davies, in a special limited edition, will be available and you will have an opportunity to view Cradle of Fire related Land of Iron artefacts, curated by the museum’s Collections Officer, Angela List-Evans.
Meet both teams and relax with a cup of tea or coffee. Please book to avoid disappointment on the day. Free tickets are available from Land of Iron’s events page.
We look forward to seeing you there!
